Support Equine Muscle Health

Recent research has prompted leading equine nutritionists to suggest increased dietary intake of Vitamin E in equines to assist with Equine Muscle Health. KAUFFMAN’S Amino-E is a highly concentrated source of Vitamin E with 5,000 I.U.’s per oz. Vitamin E supplementation plays a huge role in both overall health and performance. Vitamin E’s role as an antioxidant is important in protecting tissues and cells from degradation by free radicals. Even idle horses need a steady supply of vitamin E for routine tissue maintenance and healthy immune status. Horses that might benefit from supplementation of Amino-E include those without access to fresh forages or pasture, performance horses in strenuous work, breeding horses, and those diagnosed with neurological problems such as equine motor neuron disease (EMND) and equine protozoal myeloencephalitis (EPM).

Amino-E also contains the essential amino acids Lysine, Methionine and Threonine. Essential amino acids must be supplied in the diet, because horses cannot synthesize them in sufficient quantity to maintain normal metabolic function. Lysine, Methionine and Threonine are also considered limiting amino acids, meaning that if not present in adequate amounts, it can limit the body’s ability to make structural proteins such as muscle, cartilage, etc.

Supplementation with KAUFFMAN’S Amino-E can insure that your horse’s intake of vitamin E and limiting amino acids is adequate to support equine muscle health and build muscle structure.
